What is the documentary about and who is the audience for it?

Well, for me, I believe every parent who has a child in the public school system should view this movie and ESPECIALLY Christian parents.

It shows in detail throughout the movie the history of the public school system from the beginning of America till today. You can see how all anti-God teachings came into the school system and how this has affected our children and social issues surrounding them. It's about a film producer who homeschools his children, they buy a yellow school bus and take a trip across the country to meet with experts and Christians leaders on the subjects of America, Christianity, Homeschooling, and the Public School.

You have pastors who are speaking up about this issue and it was interesting to hear from prominent school administrators, principals, and teachers who are CHRISTIAN and give a FIRST-HAND accounts about public schools and their intimate personal decisions they make concerning the public schools and their Christianity.

There is really no argument about having children 'be the salt and light' in a public school --time and time again--this is a statistic that doesn't measure up in the name of Christianity. I remember reading once that, "If you are preparing for war, you first need to train your soldiers ---you don't just drop them off in the middle of the war with no training or personal growth." And yet, if you really look at a public school-- your child has no battle-buddies and are left for dead (spiritually dead that is). If everything that a Christian parent teaches at home is being contradicted at school--is that not confusing your child? Who is right--You or the System?

The film also brings up the era of Nazi Germany and it reminded me of a another quote I read, "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the Future!" - Adolf Hilter. Hilter knew the very importance of gaining the hearts and minds of the youth for ideology for his twisted Utopia society.

I was baffled at some of the quotes and actual clips of the NEA (National Education Association) and their leaders' viewpoints. It was very disturbing to me as a Christian parent. No wonder children are not doing well in schools in America. Public schools have become a mass production of a general social experiment and the dealer is our American government & politicians.

WOW!! --you say (that's going a little overboard --isn't?) **Not from where I stand.

So, if you want to discuss the film, please leave a comment (but only after you have seen the film and have done a little research on our government schools).

Oh, by the way, The Exodus Mandate, was a key factor (besides scripture & Homeschool friends/family), in making our decision to go from public school to homeschooling our children. I would definitely visit them if you are contemplating homeschooling or looking at Christian education for your children.

I challenge you, as a Christian parent, to watch this film. It only soldify our beliefs that we want to instill in our children via homeschooling.

You have peaked my interest. I'm going to have to get the movie to check it out. I do not agree at all with the "salt & light" argument and it's one reason I've chosen to homeschool.

Let me clarify the last comment I made...I don't believe we should make our CHILDREN be salt & light in a PS. They are not ready - at all. Peer pressure is too great. That's not their job - at that age.

Berry Patch - I agree...our children are not ready...day in and day out (in a anti-God environment) would be a struggle for ANY adult Christian...let alone our children without a solid teaching-foundation of Scripture.

Please come back after you view it and make any comments you found interesting that I haven't covered.

Thanks for visiting. :)

This video is one sided. Made by a homeschooling father. I would also like to see statitics about children who are homeschooled and the number that keep the faith. I grew up in a christian home, went to a private school and had friends who were homeschooled, and the homeschooled kids ended up being the most wild of us all after we graduated and two were pregnant before 18. Not saying that is the norm, but this video was extreme as well.

To Anonymous: I would recommend reading some of Ken Ham books: 1. Already Gone, and 2. Already Compromised. As for being one-sided, I don't see how the history of the public school is 'one-sided' because if you research it from a public school 'side' -- sure they'd leave out the Christian views, but it's still the same.

As for homeschool kids gone wild...as stated in many sites and research - just because you homeschool, doesn't mean children come out perfect. So as parents, we need to look at ourselves and our sins, plus our own hearts before we move on to our children with our beliefs and guidance.

Yes, I wouldn't say it was the norm for homeschool girls to get pregnant either, and mind you ---- NOT ALL homeschool kids/parents are CHRISTIAN and have the desire to raise their children for Christ. Thanks for the comment though. ;)
