Technically my life in the last two weeks, it's been busy and this is why I have to cover two weeks instead of one. The boys finally took their tests (Tera Nova) and so then we will have that take care of before we have to PCS (permanent change of station) to another post. Not sure where we are headed to. My husband calls his branch manager (SOON) and hopefully well have some options. This coming tour will be our LAST active duty tour and then he can retire!! YAHOO!
In our homeschool this week...
The week of 21-25th of March we took our Spring Break. I figured it was a good time since they tested all the week prior and I was getting that PCS-itch (trying to already purge the stuff I don't want when we move). We started back up last week. We started our Total Language Plus with the book guide for Shiloh and it's going good so far. (I plan to write a review for it)
So going everything with Math (LoF and MUS), English (TLP, Rod & Staff), Penmanship (Book of Proverbs), our Bible study on the Life of Christ (Abeka), and finally Science (Apologia). I definitely want to start up our Nature Study also...
Places we're going and people we're seeing...
I went to a Little Black Dress event for some of the ladies within our BN. and that was nice to attend, got some updated photos of me and the boys for the Hubby, went to our favorite outdoor park with some great friends (I have four and she has nine children), and the boys started the baseball season this week.
My favorite thing this week was...
Well, finally getting our taxes done and my favorite: The SUNSHINE!! Finally spring is here in Germany...
What's working/not working for us...
Honestly nothing really comes to mind except that my younger two boys are really not into naps anymore!! :)
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...
No questions right now, but I do need to go over our list of material and see where we are at for next year's curriculum. I did just receive Apologia Science Human Anatomy and Physiology...plus the notebooks!! So excited! I love Human A & P.

Do you use the same curriculum for all your boys or do you have to use different things depending on their learning styles?
Dear Kate,
what we use together:
Bible, History, Nature Study (when we do it), Spelling (but on different levels, penmanship, geography, spanish, art
what they use separate:
Math, Science, English (Rod & Staff)
Roughly..that's how we separate the 'classes.' You can see our curriculum on the right side bar under: "Our curriculum" and "Half-Year Review"
I hope I answered your questions...
Oh...as for their learning styles...
my 4th grader is hands on --so he uses Math U See and writes his English on a white board.
But I have found that both are audio learners...so for instance; I read out loud our Bible and History. I make them read their science individual and well as readers/books.
My oldest loves to read....and I have found he loves Life of Fred for Math...but use some Math Mammoth sheets for extra (sometimes).
Lots of projects keeps them going. :)
Thanks! My oldest is only four so we aren't really doing much more than living right now, but I'm always interested in how experienced homeschoolers do things.
this really rings home for me! I just found your blog today after hopping around (avoiding laundry)...such a great find...look forward to being a follower :)
