Winter: This season is the most difficult. Deep struggles, mourning, trying to make it through difficult times, or the death of a loved one can pull us away from God. He teaches us to lean on Him for comfort and peace.

Stemmerding’s take on the “Seasons of Faith” books from CBH…I absolutely LOVE THEM!! All four soft cover books are of quality and as well as the content within. Their motto of, “Because Kids Need Christ” ---is just amazing to me. I think about my childhood, and wonder how my life could have been different (in a good way) –if I was handed this book(s) to me. What struck me the most is that is for children. The messages, the stories are all for the children—life issues and circumstances that a child might been in and can discussed and talked about in a Godly manner is just priceless.

Before receiving this books, I have never heard of CBH. I was excited to review them though, because Godly, Children books are rare these days….I would even go to say that these books are the best next to the Bible. I would love to get more of them and distribute to children, to family members, nieces and nephews…these books would make excellent gifts for any occasion or just because, “I love you.” Each book contains an audio CD read by Uncle Charlie VanderMeer. And at the end of each story (and on the audio) is an invitation to know Christ as your personal Saviour, to include several verses and a prayer.

The illustrations from all books are colorful, eye-grabbing attention and large for a beautiful affect with the story. I have four sons; ages range from 12 down to 1 ½ year old…each and every one love the stories and the audio CD that goes along. Really awesome for the visual and audio learners, but who doesn’t love a great story?? IF you are looking for a great Christian books and a fairly great price for a book/audio CD---I would definitely recommend this series.

On a side note; I recently lost my mother in March; coming back from the funeral and trip to the States, I came back to picking up my package from the CMR (community mail room) and received these books. Not knowing the significance for the seasons, I first read, “Braving the Storm” –the title first intriqued me, but as the front cover is gloomly (as in a storm is coming) ---it really spoke to my heart. After reading the entire book, and not really knowing of books like this---I cried. I cried from the joy of the book’s message and from the joy of knowing I can share these books with my sons… Storms will come, no matter what, but knowing we can trust Christ and pray to get through that season of winter is the message I want to share with my boys and these books make is so easy and effortless.
