Our Christian Nation
05 July 2009
Having the past weekend having come and gone, I am well reminded of all the service members from each branch; their sacrifices that they make for this glorious country-The United States of America.
Fourth of July is a celebration of our countries liberty and freedom from oppression. It makes me so UPSET as an American and as a Christian to see how this country is falling… Falling to what you ask? Falling from the morals and values, the American way of living, and the very heart of what the founding fathers strived to achieve through their own sacrifices; blood, wars, personal finances, family, homes, and the ultimate sacrifice-death for our country.
This next thought is not of my own but the truth. You can ignore it, you can hate it, and/or you can ‘believe’ that it’s untrue, but it’s the truth. This country was founded and based on Christianity. Yes, the Lord Jesus Christ is the center and the FOUNDATION of the United States of America. It is beyond belief that my children in their earlier years and the generations to come have no clue about 'real' American History. That is to say---if they are being brought up learning in government school system.
Up until now, my children have been ‘raised’ in the public school arena. I guess American History is not brought into their lives until the high school years, so how can they come to love their country—it’s too late! Have you ever heard your children state that they hate living in the United States? That they would rather live somewhere else other than the U.S.? Well, maybe not to that extreme, but they certainly do not know the History of the United States and they certainly don’t APPRECIATE their freedom and liberties either. Sad to say, my children are apart of that disaster-up until now. They do not know what it means to be an American, but I will raise them in truth and knowledge.
For the lunatics who are trying to change our country’s history---I’d say to them, SHAME ON YOU!! And most importantly shame on US for letting them. Well not anymore….my children are and will be homeschooled. They will know the songs, “America the Beautiful,” “Star-Spangled Banner,” “God Bless America,” “My Country Tis of Thee” and so forth…
How dare the government school system change that for us, for our children, and for our country. Yes, of course the government school system is NOT the only blame, I blame our parents and our parents’ parents’ and most importantly--I put the blame on ourselves. This country was and is apart of Christianity, not one government official can CHANGE that. Our government is based on Christianity and the Bible. You don’t believe me? Here are some quotes from our founding fathers:
George Washington - first President of the United States of America
What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus Christ. - George Washington
It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.
- George Washington
It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.- George Washington
Samuel Adams, Signer of the Declaration of Independence
I ... [rely] upon the merits of Jesus Christ for a pardon of all my sins. - Samuel Adams
We have this day [Fourth of July] restored the Sovereign to whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in Heaven, and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His Kingdom come.- Samuel Adams
The name of the Lord (says the Scripture) is a strong tower; thither the righteous flee and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). Let us secure His favor and He will lead us through the journey of this life and at length receive us to a better.- Samuel Adams
And here is the kicker!!! Did you know this one??
United States Congressional Endorsement of the Bible and God
Congress printed a Bible for America and said:
"The United States in Congress assembled ... recommend this edition of the Bible to the inhabitants of the United States ... a neat edition of the Holy Scriptures for the use of schools."- United States Congress 1782
Congress passed this resolution:
"The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools."- United States Congress 1782
By Law the United States Congress adds to US coinage:
"In God We Trust"-United States Congress 1864
Why are a handful of people trying to change this and yet get big media attention, like they speak for the rest of this country??? I am so sick of that! There are PLENTY Christians still living in the United States, because WHERE ELSE ON EARTH ARE THEY GOING TO GO??? Christianity at the present moment is NOT wanted elsewhere. Why is that?? No other country represents God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Christians were born and raised in this country and no where else do they have the Freedom and GOD-giving right to worship Him.
More quotes that I love:
John Adams, President of the United States of America, First Vice President, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Signer of the Bill of Rights, and Signer of First Ammendment
We recognize no sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus. - John Adams and John Hancock
The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity. - John Adams
The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God. - John Adams
The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity. - John Adams
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. - John Adams
[The Fourth of July] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.- John Adams
Daniel Webster, Early American Politician
Education is useless without the Bible. – Daniel Webster
Will you ever find these quotes in your children’s American History BOOKS??? Nope, not now and it probably will never…that is why I am homeschooling my children. Because the bases of this country, The United States of America, was and IS founded on Jesus Christ. And to quote John Adams, “As the safety and prosperity of nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and the blessing of Almighty God, and the national acknowledgment of this truth is not only an indispensable duty which the people owe to Him.”
This family will do its duty because we do OWE it to Him.
